Email from guest: My husband and I and our son with his wife absolutely loved our stay at the River Cottage.  It had two bedrooms for privacy and the living area was very roomy.  Being right on the river was peaceful and we kayaked down the cleanest river we have ever been on!!  The river also had several sandy beach areas to pull off and swim.  This cottage was also very close to Munising where we kayaked the picture rocks and hiked many trails that also led to waterfalls.  We also took a 40 min. trip to Marquette where we visited the black rocks and climbed Sugarloaf Mountain.  I would definitely stay at River Cottage again and have had only positive experiences with the manager.

We had a fabulous time. The cabin was super clean, up to date and big enough for our Family and Friends to enjoy. The great swimming areas, fishing and camp fire kept everyone happy and entertained. We look forward to visiting again next Summer..
Lisa is great to work with, super customer service!

We loved our stay at the river cottage for our anniversary. It was right up against the river and it had everything we needed. If we come back up to the UP we will definitely try to go through Lisa again. She was a gem!

We had a great time at the River Cottage. The cottage is completely updated. It's spacious, clean, comfortable and the wi-fi is lightning fast. The location is a perfect jumping off point for Au Train kayaking, Munising, Grand Island hiking, Pictured Rocks kayaking, waterfalls, and Marquette.

The River Cottage is in a very nice location right by the Autrain River. Canoes and kayaks can be rented very close by for a leisurely, lovely 3-hr trip downriver. Munising and attractions are close by, we had a great time hiking in the woods, cruising up Lake Superior to see the Picture Rocks and just enjoying the breathtaking scenery. The cabin had everything we needed too, we even cooked dinner outside in the grill. For a group of six as we were, the only thing that would've made our stay more comfortable is an extra bathroom. But we really loved our stay, I highly recommend this place!

We loved our stay at the River Cottage so much! The weather was amazing the week we were there and it was the perfect location for us to be able to travel around the UP to see various sights. We used the cottage as our home base and took day trips to Marquette, Houghton, Copper Harbor, Isle Royale National Park, Whitefish Point, Grand Marais and of course the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The cottage was very clean when we got there and we were comfortable the whole week. My husband loved being able to throw a line in the river every day before breakfast and try to catch a fish - He did get lucky once and caught a small mouth bass! We love the little otter that lives near the river bank and enjoyed watching him and the ducks swim by daily! Lisa was wonderful during the booking process and made it so simple to get the dates we wanted. Overall a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to book another stay!
