Evergreen
Cottage is nestled among pines in the quaint village of Christmas, Mi., located 3 miles west of Munising and
40 miles east of Marquette. The cottage is approximately 600
square feet in size, very clean and comfortable and complete
with two bedrooms. Each bedroom is furnished with a Queen
size bed, night stand, reading lamps, dresser and closet. A
Double size sleeper is perfect for two people in the sunroom
and two roll-a-way beds for 2 additional guests. Evergreen
Cottage sleeps 6 guests comfortably and 8 in a pinch. Bed
linens and towels provided as well as starter products of paper
towel, toilet paper, hand soap and dish soap. The Evergreen
Cottage is completely remodeled with hardwood floors in the
sunroom and kitchen/living room area and carpet in the bedrooms. The
efficient kitchen is equipped with a large refrigerator, range,
microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes and utensils. The
dining table seats six people and additional dinner trays are
available or dine on the table and chairs on the sun deck which
is accessible from the dining area. The living room has
a couch, and easy chair with ottoman. Other amenities
include a cozy gas fireplace, air conditioner, cable TV, phone
for local calls, sun deck with table, chairs and a charcoal
grill.
The
large, beautiful backyard is wooded, rustic and secluded. A
pretty river runs along the back of the property and flows
into an inland lake and empties into Lake
Superior. Lake Superior is
only a ½ mile walk or bike ride away; enjoy the beach
and picnic area. This is
a great getaway spot, perfect for a romantic hideaway or a
family looking for fun. If you have 2 families wanting to spend
time together, you can rent this with Evergreen Retreat, which
is next door, but both cottages have that secluded feel.
Evergreen Cottage is
close to restaurants, casino, Sand Point Beach, Autrain Beach, many beautiful waterfalls, and right
on the snowmobile trail! Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
is only minutes away along with thousands of acres of state forest
for hiking, biking, snowmobiling, skiing & 4 wheeling - trail
is at the door! Canoe and kayak rentals are nearby and if
you’ve never kayaked before, they also offer guided tours
and instruction. Pictured Rocks Cruise boats tour the Pictured
Rocks and offer sunset cruises. Pictured Rocks Golf Club
is only 5 miles from the cottage and if miniature golf is more
your speed, we have that too! Shopping, antiquing, local
artists, great restaurants are just minutes away. Other attractions
include Miners Castle Falls and Beach; Grand Island National Recreation
Area; Alger Underwater Preserve, biking trails in Hiawatha National
Forest, Glass Bottom boat and shipwreck tours, charter fishing,
airplane tours,
During the summer in
Munising don’t miss Tuesday’s Music in the park where
local artists perform at the City Park. Bring
a blanket and picnic and enjoy the music along Lake
Superior. Our very own local resident Author,
Singer/Songwriter, Carl Behrend performs his music about Lake Superior
frequently in Munising, either at the park or Falling Rock Café and
he’s a must see while you are in town. Please check
