My husband and I stayed here for a nice 4 day weekend. I loved waking up every morning and drinking coffee on the back deck while listening to the birds and watching the river. It was so peaceful. The outdoor shower was enjoyable and surreal. We slept in the upstairs bed and it was very comfortable. There was so much to do in the surrounding area that we didn't get to spend much time just relaxing at the cabin. We wish we would've had more time to enjoy the fire pits and kayaks. The outhouse was an outhouse which was probably our least favorite aspect but we knew about it before hand and it's all about the adventure right? We had everything we needed at the cabin and loved our time in the U.P. We would definitely rent another Hiawatha Hideaway home in the future.

My grandson and I came to Munising for a quiet vacation from all the noise back home. This is a beautiful area. I love all the pines and lakes, flowers. I saw some fox glove flowers on our drive to Miners Falls. They were beautiful! We rode the Riptide and Shipwreck boat tour. The Riptide was alot of fun. I did get a bit nausea. If you become sick from fast spins and slow turns. It was still fun. It will be an experience I will always remember I rode a crazy boat on Lake Superior. The shipwreck boat tour was interesting. We also enjoyed that. The water falls are very nice. Pictured Rocks are beautiful. We hiked some of the trails. A very nice lady at the gift shop next to Dog Patch Restaurant told me that the snow falls cover a building across from her shop until spring. Get an idea of snowfall. The Dog Patch had good food. The cabin was a very nice place to stay. Very secluded and quiet. We had everything we needed. We didn't mind the outhouse or outdoor sink area. This is a very nice cabin. The downstairs bed was comfortable. Thanks for letting us stay here.

This was our first visit to the UP and it did not dissapoint. Our boys 8 & 13 loved kayaking the river and lake. The outdoor shower was very peaceful. We spent time fishing, trail riding, hiking, visitng waterfalls and the Pictured Rocks, and Riptide boat ride (which was awesome!).
The binder was so helpful in learning the area and where to visit. We enjoyed an evening meal at Camel Riders. It was delicious...make reservations in advance.
Thank you for allowing our family to enjoy your beautiful cabin. The signts and scenery in the UP are breathtaking. This is a vacation we will always remember and hold dear in our hearts!

What a perfect little place with everything to do! Dan & I are from New Jersey but moved to Chicago last year. We were looking for a mini vacation that didn't break the bank in driving distance where we could turn off our phones and relax with our dogs. I'd say we found it!
This cabin has everything! There wasn't anything that we couldn't find or had a need for. We woke up every morning to a woodpecker and every night fell asleep to an owl. No sirens, construction or honking horns. It was glorious!
We didn't explore the area just stayed at the cabin and the beach. The dock was great! Did some fishing, swimming and boating. All the neighbors are very friendly and a young man across the way on the beach rescued us rowing the boat when the winds got relentless. He towed us back to shore.
Good old fashion fun unplugged! Thank you!
Rita, Dan, Greg and Junior too!

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay very much! It was nice to unwind and relax. We both are extremely busy this time of year so a long weekend was just what we needed. We really loved how cozy and comfortable the cabin was. I even enjoyed doing dishes on the back deck, thank you for a clean and comfortable stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hemlock Hideaway for Labor Day week this year! It was also my birthday week, so I was looking forward to a get away with my little family. We enjoyed exploring around the cabin, and walking to the river and and kayaking and fishing in the lake. We went to Munising and hiked to waterfalls and enjoyed the beach. We took some scenic drives and ate in the local restaurants. Most of all, we enjoyed the quiet, rustic feel of the cabin. Our son loved exploring the inside of the cabin since it was all new to him. We had a campfire outside and enjoyed the stars and s'mores together. We recommend this cabin for your stay!

We loved the house and lake access. We spent our short time exploring the Pictured Rocks National Park. We want to come back to explore so much more and hang out at the lake. We felt very at home an relaxed here.

Just wish we had more time - we would have taken the boats out and used the fire pit...next time! We would totally come back! PS. Love the Midway General Store breakfasts!

Lovely stay! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The cabin was beautiful, cozy, clean, and accurate to the description regarding the location, layout, and amenities. The outdoor shower and sink worked incredibly well, better than expected. An outhouse is an outhouse, but this one was fine and was cutely decorated! I also appreciated the property manager checking to make sure we understood there were no indoor bathrooms before we booked. Everything was neat and clean upon arrival. The property is STUNNING, a river in the backyard and a beautiful lake in front of the house with private lake access and a dock. We wish we could have stayed longer and made more use of the grill and the two areas to have a campfire. 15 miles from Munising, but did not feel like too long of a drive to go see the sights. Great recommendation for breakfast at the General Store from the property manager. Very grateful they allow dogs. All around a wonderful stay we would definitely come back.

This rustic cabin was just what our family needed. It had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. It's situated on a group of lakes. We had our own beach, kayaks and small fishing boat. We have four kids 18 to 26 and they loved kayaking all the lakes. If you are looking for a great place to unplug and get back to the outdoors. This is the place. By the way we met the nicest people who gave us a tour of all the lakes on their pontoon boat. Great hiking at pictured rocks. Thanks Lisa for a great stay.

We're up from Grand Rapids, MI. This little place was perfect! So close to all of the beautiful sites, but just far enough out to enjoy total peace and quiet.
We spent so much quality time as a family. The Chapel Falls trail is an easy, 1.6 miles and the falls had some really neat lookout spots w/a bridge.
Camel Riders was booked for dinner so we went to the Buckhorn just north of here. Really enjoyed my perch sandwish and the gin & tonic.
Thank you for a fabulous place to recharge & reconnect.

Thank you for opening up your cabin for rentals! The area is beautiful and we greatly appreciated how quiet it was. We explored the neighborhood and kayaked the lake. My daughters caught fish with the nets! Munising was fun. We hiked to the falls, drove to Christmas (cool!), and dined at Muldoons for pasties (delicious - recommend!), and pizza (Pictured Rocks Pizza - excellent wood fired, thin crust). Also took a very short swim in Lake Superior. Our visit was short...but refreshing. Love the UP!
