My husband, and I and our two adult children thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Downtown Cottage. The cottage was super clean, and well equipped. We loved the location, as it was in walking distance of restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream, and Muldoon’s pasties! The house is also just a short drive to Pictures Rocks, Miners Castle, Glass bottom boat tours, etc. We walked to Lake Superior and enjoyed several beautiful sunsets. The owners were great and easy to work with. We enjoyed our stay, and would choose to stay here again.

Perfect accommodations for visiting family on a busy Summer weekend! It was a pleasure finding your lovely cottage on the Bay. What a perfect, peaceful perch for all our outdoor adventures. The unique literary furnishings and well-appointed kitchen were appreciated. Just 3 blocks from my house, it offered the ideal setting for my sister's luxurious 5 night stay.

Our stay at the downtown cottage in Munising was lovely. The cottage was clean and cozy with all the amenities provided for an enjoyable and comfortable stay. The location is perfect for all the activities around Munising as well as drives to other locations including Presque Isle and Taquamenon. I highly recommend this place.

We had a great weekend in Muinising. The Downtown Cottage was clean, appealing and well located. A great spot to hang out when not in the woods. We enjoyed the proximity to DQ, neighborhood bunny rabbits and singing birds.

gorgeous cabin with outstanding accommodations. Very neat and clean. We walked to all gift shops and restaurants, the beach near by was beautiful, waterfalls within walking distance and a lake view.. We will stay again if we are in the area.

We had a wonderful stay at this very cute cottage. The cottage was well stocked with all of the toiletries, towels, and linens for the three of us. It was very convenient to walk to the local eateries and marina. There were many places we wanted to visit in this area including the beautiful Pictured Rocks, Munising Falls, Wagner Falls, Alger Falls. It was also centrally located which allowed us to visit Tahquamenon Falls one day and Bond Falls the next day. We had a great, long weekend!

Would recommend the Downtown Cottage if your looking for proximity to downtown. It’s cozy and is filled with everything you need. I appreciated the quality bedding, kitchen supplies, etc.

Downtown Cottage was everything we needed. It is so much cuter in person. The pictures don’t do it justice. We travel with 2 huskies, and we are always so grateful to find accommodations that take larger dogs. We only used one bed, but it was incredibly comfortable and the linens are top rate; on par with any five star hotel. The appliances are modern and nice, and though we didn’t do much cooking, every modern convenience was available. The location is great! They are right down the street from Pictured Rocks Cruises and within a short drive of many waterfalls and scenic locations. We will definitely visit again!

I grew up in Munising so I was very particular about where we stayed. The cottage was perfect in so many ways. The location - across from the Dairy Queen, a block from a great bar/restaurant, two blocks from the main park and Munising Dock, right on the main HWY but not a lot of noise. It also was decorated and perfectly appointment with great amenities and decorations. It was worth every penny which we felt was very reasonable. WE are looking forward to returning and staying there again soon!

The Downtown Cottage is one of the cutest and cleanest homes we have ever rented! Perfect size for my husband, myself and our little dog. Well thought-out details made our stay totally stress-free. Especially enjoyed sitting outside in the garden having coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. Great view of the lake! Munising is a very small town and it was nice to be able to walk to both the boardwalk and downtown restaurants/shops. This cottage is also a great central location for day trips to the Tahquamenon Falls and Marquette. I would HIGHLY recommend the Downtown Cottage to those who want to visit the UP but arent really into "roughing it." Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!

We stayed a week at the Downtown Cottage to celebrate our second wedding anniversary and we couldn't have been happier with our time there. Everything in the cottage is so comfortable and convenient, it truly felt like a home away from home, complete with anything we would possibly need. The cabin is close enough to downtown to walk to everything you'd need, but feels completely private and has a lovely little yard and a view of Lake Superior. There are tons of attractions, natural and otherwise, within a short distance and this was a fantastic homebase for our hikes on Grand Island and the North Country Trail. We would highly recommend the Downtown Cottage to anyone and we hope to come back for another stay in the future. Thanks to Hiawatha's Hideaway for a wonderful vacation!

For someone who has been unable to take a vacation for 3 years, I could not of found a better place than the Downtown Cottage. It was just the right size for my daughter, me and two doxies! The attention to detail, hominess and comfort were impeccable. We couldn't of asked for a better location as we were able to visit Fayette and Palms Book State Parks and Marquette during our 3 day stay, as well as just enjoying Munising itself. Being pet friendly was a wonderful bonus and our two little Doxies loved relaxing under the breeze from the ceiling fans. I hope to return next summer.

We both had such a great time. The cottage was perfect and had everything that made it feel like we were home. We loved having breakfast and watching the boats coming in and going out in the morning and enjoying the sunset at night over Lake Superior. The cottage was very well furnished. Thank you for the wonderful week we had. Can't wait to come back and stay again in the future!

This charming cottage is just right, like Baby Bear's in Goldilocks! The location is perfect for walking everywhere around town and features an incredible view of Munising Bay and Grand Island. The sunrises and sunsets are in full view right from the kitchen window. The newly renovated cottage features all the modern conveniences of home while retaining some of its old charm like the old plaster door archways. We truly felt like this was our home away from home. Our stay was July 5, 2014 to July 14, 2014.

What a lovely cottage, we had such a wonderful time. We cooked at the cottage every day and it has a most compete kitchen. It was a pleasure to wake up every morning with a view of the bay and a beautiful island. The selection of DVDs was great as well as the decor. If you are looking for a cozy place in a peaceful and scenic area this is the place to go. Thanks for a great time!!!!!

We stayed in the Downtown Cottage from 08/30 - 09/03/2012. What a lovely, and very well appointed cottage. Spotless, a quick walk downtown and a lovely view of the lake. And, there's everything you could possibly need - movies, books, picnic basket, beach towels, and beach chairs. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will definitely be back.

homeowner-added comment: Cottage Guestbook: As the first guests of the Downtown Cottage, we had a wonderful time! The small, quaint, cozy feeling was just what we needed! We had an exciting time here doing all the local tourist-ie stuff and did some of ourown adventure seeking! We got a speeding ticket on our way here just south of the Mackinaw Bridge! Guess I was too excited to get here! With our first baby on the way, thank you for giving us a pleasant vacation as a single couple before we journey down the road to parenthood.

homeowner-added comment: Cottage Guestbook: June 25 to 28, 2012 - What a beautiful cottage - very tastefully decorated. The patio and overlook of the lake makes this place so special. We appreciated your tourist guide so we could take in the sights - we did both boat tours. Our 30th anniversary was all we expected.

homeowner-added comment: Cottage Guestbook: July 6th, 2012 - This was one of the best places I have stayed. We loved everything about this beautiful cottage. It's very thoughtfully decorated. We loved the kitchen and the fact that it had been stocked with everything one may need to enjoy the stay. We cooked several times, and also used the brand new Weber grill. Attention to small details like the tourist guide and even keeping a nice collection of good reads & movies was icing on the cake. We hope to return to this slice of paradise again.

homeowner-added comment: Cottage Guestbook: August 4 to 10, 2012 - Downtown Cottage was the perfect spot for our 1st visit to the Upper Peninsula! Over the last week we hiked Bruno's Run, kayaked from Miner's Beacht o Chapel Beach (what a way to see Pictured Rocks!), biked Grand Island and hiked all over the lakeshore. Whew! This cottage was great - the kitchen lovely and homey, the outdoor space relaxing...well done! We met people at Lake Superior Brewing who knew previous occupants of the cottage. Thanks for your recommendations we will be back to the U.P.!

homeowner-added comment: Cottage Guestbook: July 25 to 28, 2012 - Where to start?! We arrived in the early evening hours and took a walk on the beach, then decided to make dinner an adventure! We went to Camel Riders restaurant per Lisa's suggestion - got lost - laughed - had a great time - what a beautiful drive & location! We took the Pictured Rocks cruise & took our mountain bikes to Grand Island in the afternoon. We stopped on the beach (Merchandise Beach) & got engaged!! After coming back we also stopped at Miner's Castle - which was so cool to get another perspective after viewing it from the cruise. Hiked Chapel Rock and tried the beer at Lake Superior Brewing Co - great Whitefish sandwich! A great trip with a fabulous home base - will be recommending this to all our friends & family. Downtown Cottage was the perfect spot - we enjoyed cooking some meals & the breathtaking view of Lake Superior! will always remember this trip - Michigan holds such a special place in our hearts!

homeowner-added comment: Cottage Guestbook: July 22 - 25, 2012 - Even though our stay at the Downtown Cottage was short, we had a great time and took advantage of many of the local attractions. We enjoyed the Pictured Rocks Boat Cruise, the Farmer's Market and local artist's at the marina. Our 2 year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed the Toonerville Trolly and boat cruise to the Upper Taquamenon Falls as well as time at Sand Point Beach. The cottage was quaint and very well appointed. It was perfect for the three of us. We hope to be back in the future to stay in another Hiawatha's Hideaway cottage after our second daughter is home in the fall.
